When you get older, there’s nothing you really need for house and home, so gifts become “experiences”.
Since my husband loves true crime and I write fake crime, I gave him an afternoon learning from South Yorkshire detectives how crime scenes are processed (through a company called Uniquely Yorkshire).
It was a fascinating experience, involving everything from lifting prints to logging evidence and taking casts of footprints in order to solve a case based on a real murder. We also learned that husband-and-wife teams have certain…challenges when stuck in a small room together for an extended period of time. 😉
